Hope you all enjoyed Diwali…
I tried to make Rangoli …
I know I am pathetic in these creative things…but still …I just wanted to try and improve a bit from the last attempt😂😁😂…
Take care 😘😘
The tittle of my post is borrowed from an article of SAYANTANI DAS GUPTA which forced me to pen down few thoughts ……
In the article writer taught her University students an upper division literature course titled “BANNED BOOKS FROM AROUND THE WORLD”….
She further mentions the books she included in the course…
1- Joseph Anton by Salman Rushdie
2- The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexis
3-The kite Runner by Khaled Hoseini…
4- An Area of Darkness by V.S. Naipaul
5- The Lottery by Shirley Jackson
6- Lihaaf by Ismat Chughtai
And many more….
Literature helps young people realize that they are not alone in the world….Books inculcate the improved Imagination, Communication, Analysis, Empathy, Agility and understanding….
My first reaction after reading the title of article was…Why ban books??
“People who ban books are like people on diets who get mad at someone for eating a doughnut”….If you don’t like it…don’t read it….
But as The challenge is complex the over simplified solution will definitely not work here….
The banned books have elements that can cause disturbance in one or the other way depending upon the contents in it…..
After reading a couple of short stories from above mentioned books …My view on the topic slightly changed….The books with high level of profanity,or capable of inciting religious violence or hurting national sentiments could be approved or not????
We live in a highly complex world where “One person’s normal is the other person’s provocative”…….
All the violent and challenged things in the world will come to light for everyone and pretending they are not there or trying to erase them instead of embracing will be our fault….
The book challenges are often motivated by the desire to protect us in the world where points of view vary….
Its also respectful and kind….
Problem arises when an organized group want to dictate the reading selection according to their own choice…..
Reading what’s familiar is like hearing echoes of yourself ….Complex books teach how to analyze and argue….
An ultimate solution of this problem couldn’t be found easily….but may be we can succeed by drawing a boundary line somewhere …..which exists above our comfort zone but within the reality…which allows us to discover but not disturb on the basis of obnoxious facts…..which open welcoming hands for the truth and is not shyed away by the society……
Hello lovely bloggers….🙋🙋

By that …I means apart from clothes I’ve bought colors for making Rangoli😍😍 I love lights … hope our house will be decorated by Dhanteras….Woweeeeeee👼👼👼
I know…I am over reacting.. and this post also sounds equally stupid:? as my previous posts…
But I am helpless…what to do…
I am going home after a long break and I can’t wait to see everyone…
I wish my mom likes the Kurta I got for her…She is so choosy …which scares me completely when I am shopping for her…😱😱
She rarely likes something….and I
Rarely reject something completely…
That’s how it works😅😅
All ready for the blast here I come everyone…
To all those who are still reading this mad post…
Lots of love…😍😍😘😘😘😘
